Ignition change up, need some opinions
So i have had an issue with the key being stuck in the ignition, i took apart my steering column and i can take the key out as long as the cylinder is not in the steering column.

I am thinking about just cutting the wires from the cylinder and relocating the cylinder so that I can take the key out and rigging up a push button where the cylinder was.
Is it possible to replace the turning mechanism with a push button start or would it be easier to make a turning mechanism to turn the engine over when I have the key in the cylinder

Not really. See the ignition cylinder in the steering column is just a lock cylinder. Your actual ignition switch is mounted a bit further down the column. Now your ignition switch has multiple positions on it so its not just like a push button. If you were going to try and replace it you would need at least a switch and a button. However personally I would just rather fix whatever causing the issue in the first place.

so i figured out what i am going to do, im going to relocate the lock cylinder that the key is stuck in and then put a new cylinder with a key without the VATS codes in the steering column just so that it will turn the ignition, seems to be the simplest way to get this to work
