Howdy! So, I just purchased a 1984 z28 HO in pretty rough shape. Unfortunately, the turn signal switch is just a floppy useless device and the turn signals do not work. Wipers and high beams do. I'm at a loss at where to begin. I took a couple of pics that are attached. I also noticed in the glove box there is a "cam" gear that i think aids in canceling the turn signal when turning? Is this as simple as removing the housing and replacing the switch as well as getting a new lever? Also, the steering wheel is jiggly a bit. Maybe that's the missing cam doing that? Thank you!
You're probably missing some pieces besides the canceling cam, which probably has nothing to do with the looseness of the wheel. That's sounds more like the notorious four torx bolts that hold the tilt housing to the rest of the column.

Well sir, you were correct. See attached pic as to what I found in the glove box. My only guess is the previous owner was trying to get to the turn signal switch and gave up. What is the notorious Torx bolts issue?
Now wonder its a little loose. So it may be more than just those 4 torx, like that spring in the background, but here are 2 of the four. They're somewhat buried in the column too.
