Center Vent Dash Part

Anyone know if this dash part can be purchased and where? I can find the vents but not the plastic surround that holds them. Mine is cracked and want to replace. Thanks.

Re: Center Vent Dash Part

Been a while since I had mine apart but I think those are integral to the rest of the dash face. Very common to Crack and you won't find them new.

I repaired mine by removing the entire dash and using plastic epoxy and mesh screen to glue it back together on the inside. Of course the plastic still shows a hairline crack but there are no gaps and it has been holding nicely for 15 years now. Hardly would notice it ever cracked.

You can probably get to that area by just removing the dash pad/board and those two vents.

I made a flat steel brace (yellow),1/4 wide, bent the ends to fit inside the dash. Drilled holes on the ends and dash to match. Installed rivets (blue) thru the holes. The brace pulls the sides together and closes the gap made by the crack (green). You can still see the crack, but its not gotten bigger.
