***SOLD*** a brand-new, ceramic-coated set of LS-swap headers (2nd attempt)

.
.
SOLD, thanks all!!

OK, here is a picture of the headers that I'd like to sell. The brand is Hedman, they have 1-7/8" primaries & 3" secondaries, the part number is 45756. Looking at prices just now, Summit has them listed for $819, Jegs has them for $823, and Northern Auto Parts shows a listing for $800 even. I'd like to get $650. Like I said, they're brand-new, unused & complete, down to the bolts & gaskets (as you can see here) - heck, you even get the sticker!

NOTE: The BEST way to reach me is probably by email, since I don't spend a whole lot of time on the boards. Just send your message to "this nickname" -meaning the one that I go by- at comcast.net. Of course you can also PM me here, but that might be a little slower...

Finally, I don't have a paypal account, and I don't have any way to take credit cards, so I suspect that sending a money order is probably going to be the easiest way to go. If anyone wants to contact me, shoot me a PM, & I'll reply with my cell number if anyone has any questions...

Thanks for looking guys.

(Apologies if this double-posts, but I've tried to submit this earlier, & it never showed up...)

Why did you decide to sell? I'm a little unfamiliar with any swap header besides the hawks stainless works headers. Do you have any more pics? Particularly fitment pics? The one that you posted isn't showing up for me either.

Hi Justin, thanks for the reply. Yes, they are indeed for thirdgens (1983-1992, no idea why they don't include the '82 cars), here's a link to the Hedman page for this particular product:

http://www.hedmanhusler.com/site/?d=...keID=&ModelID=

And here are links to the Summit & Jegs pages, respectively:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-45756

http://www.jegs.com/i/Hedman-Husler/502/45756/10002/-1

And to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how you attach a Y-pipe, to be honest. I'm sure there's someone on here that's smarter than me, but I was planning on welding a 3-bolt flange to each one...

Hey, thanks for the reply as well! I decided to sell these because my wife surprised me with a set of Hawk's/Stainless Works headers for my birthday, & I can only fit one set of headers on the car...

Because it's late, I don't have any other pics right now, but I'll try resizing & re-posting the one picture that I already have. I don't have any fitment pics because I never got that far - I'm still working on the wiring harness & a couple of chassis issues, & I was saving the exhaust for later so that it would be ONE less thing to have to work around... If you search here on TGO, I'd be surprised if there aren't some already posted.

Anyway, here's my 2nd attempt to post the picture I have - sorry that you weren't able to see it, it worked fine when I first posted the ad...

I didn't resize this picture, but I DID convert it to a .JPG file, which is more commonly-used than the .PNG format that I used in the original post. If this works like I'm hoping it will, you should be able to click on the small image & go to the full-sized one.

Again, thanks for the interest, & LMK if you have any other questions!

Re: Selling a brand-new, ceramic-coated set of LS-swap headers (2nd attempt)

One more thing that I forgot to include in my reply above - here's a picture of the Hawk's headers that my wife got me.

From what I can tell, they have the same "output issue" (meaning "how the heck do you connect a Y-pipe??!?") as the headers I'm selling above... I figure I'm probably going to have to have a flange welded on to each one, unless someone here gives me a better idea...

OD to OD band clamp. FTW
10$ at summit per clamp. i have a complete stainless exhaust from headers to tips on my car. only used stainless band clamps. didnt have to weld a single thing. easy removal and reassembly. welding the parts is not an issue. since i have access to a mig/tig

Re: Selling a brand-new, ceramic-coated set of LS-swap headers (2nd attempt)

OK guys - feedback??

The three reasons that come to mind for these not selling are:

1) Everyone who's doing an LS swap on TGO is broke (yeah RIGHT - seems pretty doggone unlikely);

2) No one likes the design (if that's the case, then I'm just f***ed);

3) No one wants to pay $650 for these (price is negotiable to a point - I'm NOT going to take a BIG loss to move these. If it comes to THAT, I'll just hang 'em on the garage wall as offbeat/funky "art"...)

C'mon guys, talk to me...

Re: Selling a brand-new, ceramic-coated set of LS-swap headers (2nd attempt)

4) No one here has ever seen what a set of these look like installed on the car, or even an underneath pic just for reference.

Maybe if you laid both sets of headers besides each other and took some pics it might help. I notice a big difference in the way the Hawks headers swoop back at a very good angle, whereas the others come straight down alot more.

Honestly, i'm kinda interested in these myself, i have a tubular K-member so i have plenty of room around the motor, and this is the size im looking for. I really cant swallow spending almost $1100 for the Hawks ones.

Well the headers are great but only way to have good results and clearance is that you need to have there converstion mounts installed also my two cents

WOW. As long as they've been out, I never even imagined that no one's ever seen 'em installed...

Hey, if that helps, then all I have to say is - "NO PROBLEM!!"

Here are a couple of pictures of the driver's-side version of each header - I already have the passenger-side Hawk's header installed, so I'll have to uninstall it (on a night when I have more time!) so that I can get the same types of shots with that side...

KEEP IN MIND that the Hedman header isn't quite laying with it's "head-flange" side exactly against the carpet, because it has a somewhat-larger percentage of weight toward the back of the header - so the front tube is like 1/2" (just "guesstimated") off the carpet... (Just trying to be completely honest, & allow everyone to make the best decision possible...)

And WOW, you can really see how the ceramic coating on the Hedman's looks a lot better than the plain-old used headers that I'm installing...

Here, I was trying to show how the entire flange of the Hedman wasn't exactly flush to the carpet, but instead, all that anyone's going to see is my 26 (-ish) lb. monster Siamese coming to check the new stuff out...

Hey, EXCELLENT! The tubular K-member should make it a LOT easier to fit these, too! If memory serves, 1-7/8" is a really good size for modified LS engines, and the ceramic coating should cut down on the under-hood heat, as well as keep 'em looking really good for years as well. And they're only about HALF the cost of the Hawk's headers!! (How can ya beat that??!?)

If you're serious, then I can send you a PM with the address to send a money order to, OR, if you have any more questions, just let me know that, & I'll do my best to answer them/take pics/whatever's helpful.

Thanks Slush92RS!

Hmmm. That's ALSO good info to have, but I strongly suspect that having a tubular K-member might help a lot in that regard as well...

Appreciate the feedback.

Re: Selling a brand-new, ceramic-coated set of LS-swap headers (2nd attempt)

I've asked a few LS swap gurus about these headers and they just say "I don't like them" which is NOT the constructive criticism I was looking for.

If I got these headers, I could afford the tubular k member too. I would think clearance would never be an issue again. I want to want these! I just cant find much "experience" on tgo

What am I reading about conversion mounts???

Heh - yeah, nothing really there of substance... I think that a lot of it is the design (which is admittedly different). I suspect that some of it is also that everyone could be hesitant to be a "pioneer" as well, but I'm not sure.

I believe that Hedman recommends the use of their motor mounts - which makes sense, since that's really the only way that they can really know where the engine is located in the chassis. Other applications would (likely) be "unsupported".

Are the headers still for sale? I'm flying into Colorado Springs later this month. I could possibly buy the headers from you outside of the airport for $500. I think there is a Loaf and Jug a mile away from the airport.

John - the 29th is the ONE weekend day that won't work for me this month. I kept wondering why that date was resonating for me like it was, & then remembered that I am going to be taking a test in Denver that will take up the majority of the day. If you have any flexibility in your travel dates, I'll do my level best to work with any other day, I'm just not able to be in the Springs on the 29th - and I really apologize for not remembering that before now.

I'm also sending this message to you in a PM.
