Re: ls1 with stock radiator?
Called Napa and asked to cross ref. the hose and it goes to 80 something to 90 f-250, 350 and super duties too.. so cut cut cut or mod the radiator...
Re: ls1 with stock radiator?
Mine looks completely different too. Almost crumpled up
Regardless, you can clearly see the flared part of the hose in the first pic. This whole section gets cut off. The rad side gets trimmed to fit. Itll likely be about halfway up into the sticker

how low is your lower rad hose connection...mine is 1/4 way up due to the BE KOOL rad set up I have. The lenght of the hose would need to be cut down and a slice put in place for it to come up to the rad hose connection...

Re: ls1 with stock radiator?
see the one end is bigger, I used that end for the 3rdgen radiator since the side tanks are plastic I wanted a perfect fit in case I have to pull it off later I dont want to stress the plastic and the thermostat end although the hose is smaller it slid right on thanks to the coolant left from the old hose. and later on if I need to remove it I will just use a hose removal pick which is the correct way to remove the hoses when stuck
anyway here is the 4th gen lower radiator hose on the stock replacment plastic radiator and stock 4th gen thermostate housing nothing custome here FYI

hope this helps some people out.. it fit like a glove kinda pissed I waisted all that time and money trying other hoses and housings

I used the Gates 7.4l Ford hose on my LS1/T56 swap and got it to work. I tried it again on my LS1/4L60E swap, and for whatever reason could not get it to fit without major kinking.
I went to Advance auto with the 4th gen hose to get a universal. The counter guy took it as a challenge, and after about 20 minutes, came up with a Dayco 71321. This is what it looked like after trimming:

The top left part is larger than the LS1 nipple, so it all has to come off. I trimmed the other end long first (because it's hard to cut something again to make it longer), trial fit it, gave it one more trim and it fit like this:

Doesn't hit anything, doesn't kink. A very slight twist required to get the LS1 nipple and the 3rd gen radiator nipples connected. I can't vouch for the application, but another member said it is for 1987-2001 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 L6.

Re: ls1 with stock radiator?
i've added this part number to my list, seeing as advance is right down to road from me and i'm still hose-less at the moment
oh, and don't forget the "D" before that part number; dayco labels their hoses A-E, might cause an issue when trying to look up the part

good info. Added to my ever-expanding spreadsheet of knowledge.
Re: ls1 with stock radiator?

I may have to switch from the ford unit to this. The intercooler pushed my rad back and the hose is pretty tight in there. This one looks like a trim would allow for some fitment variations

Adding this to anyone who needs it later. Lower coolant hose Gates 21615 1.75"/1.50" and every cross reference for that same hose
