lt1 issues spark fuel????
ok i have the car running but it runs like crap. it sounds like it has a bad miss. i changed out the optispark cap and rotor and still the same. i pulled off the injector harness one by one to see if the idle changed and it didnt when i pulled off 5, 7, 2.4 this sounds like it is in some kind of closed loop. I do have a engine light but everything that people have told me to do to get the codes out didnt work. I know that it has to be something simple. how can i ck to see if i am getting spark to the cylinders that seem to be dead, with out shocking the crap out of myself. and does anyone have any idea what it might be. Oh yeah this seemed strange to me also when i had the car at top dead center and the cam dowl pin at 9 oclock position the rotor was pointiing towards #2 cylinder on the cap this just didnt seem right i looked at the manual and buy it the only way it will go on it one way and i guess it this was wrong it wouldnt even start. this lt1 stuff is new to me so any help will be appriciated. I cked fuel pressure and it is at 45 with vaccum off, 40 with it hooked up at idle.

What I found out on mine was it was firing on only 4 cylinders because I only had one set of injectors hooked up. In the C100 connector in the LT1 harness for the 95 engine I have, there is one pink wire for 4 injectors which are cylinders 2, 3, 5, and 8 and one for ignition. In the other connector where the C100 is (the one with the tan weatherseal) there is a pink wire there as well for the other 4 injectors for cylinders 1, 4, 6, and 7. After I got power to those, car ran like a champ.

Hi ssean92. Check out www.hotrodlane.cc its street and performance. I got a dvd about the swap from them before I started mine and they shop harness installation ( thiers of course) and some other good stuff. They also say that inorder for you to run your 700r4 you need a 93 computer and they do exchanges on them. You might even call them they have been great on the phone for me.
Good luck

When the harness was re-done, was it unwrapped and then put back together? It is possible that the injector wires for those cylinders have been swapped around with 5 plugged into 7, 2 into 4 and vice versa, I'll see if I can get you some pictures of my injector harness (since I had to pull the motor back out) and see if that will help you out any.

I would flip flop the #5 and #7 then the #2 and #4 injector wires around first, it almost seems like they are swapped which isn't letting the fuel get into the cylinder before it has to fire.
