Best thing to do if you are going to use an LS1 is to get the fuel tank out of the car, if you can't just use a 255lph Walbro.

Tank in the car was crushed so no go on that will the Walbro work as well or better!

Yeah your best bet is to just get a new Walbro 255 in tank fuel pump and your set. Dont worry about switching gas tanks and all that BS. Get the Walbro GSS340 255 in tank pump.

The best and cheapest place I have found was http://www.jdsperformance.com. They sell the pump and the install kit together for a really nice price. This is where I ordered mine from.

JD Performance really drops the ball bad when it comes to speed tho. They are rediculously slow, so be prepared to wait a couple weeks.

I looked into that as well... That setup is just overkill and too expensive in my opinion. Dont get me wrong, its a really good kit and all, but with a walbro 255 high pressure in tank pump good to 800 HP I dont think you really need all that extra stuff... If im wrong I will find out the hard way tho

That shouldn't have been a surprise to you.

I've bought four pumps from AutoPerformanceEngineering.com and always had the pump on my doorstep within 3 days of placing the order.

A custom harness (LS1/L98) was ordered 07/07 which had to be made between regular scheduled production runs.

Money refunded as we could not meet your timeline requirements by 07/12 due to unforeseen holdups in production.

If it was a L98 or LS1 system we could have shipped one the same day.

All stock items ship the same or next business day Xpress Mail. Product is also available from dealers such as Thunder Racing and More Performance.

If it's an advertised stock item on our web page then it ships the same or next business day. It can also be ordered from a dealer such as Thunder Racing. No advertised item takes 5 weeks to deliver.

It was just a wiring harness not and engine build! The way I see it custom stuff is were a buiisness starts to make more money and gets a good name, NOT so that you can tell a er customer that it takes two weeks to combine two already made harnesses come on I would be afraid to order your product from a dealer because of the delayes. And the lack of a phone number to reach you for questions is unacceptable in my opinion!

And as for the unforeseen hold ups does that also stand for " unable to meet a customers timeline on a custom build"

Sorry you feel this way.
If you ever have the opportunity to run your own business then you would understand that the production dept's priority would be to keep advertised product on the shelf. In an idealistic world your view might have some merit but in the real world it does not pay the bills, keep employees paid and our dealers stocked. Custom one-off harnesses are a courtesy item and a money losing proposition. Racetronix' harness manufacturing facility is fully automated and each machine requires set-up, programming and tear-down time. Unless you see the process it would be hard to appreciate what actually goes into making a harness here. There are no build sheets for custom harnesses so we must pull a supervisor off the floor to break down the two assemblies, produce a build sheet, he must then hand pick the parts, pull down many spools of wire etc. cut, strip, crimp, solder etc. the entire harness by hand. In the time it takes to make one harness manually the automated machines here could pump out dozens. We would not consider further extending our losses by pulling two complete packaged harnesses out of inventory in order to combine their select sections to complete one harness but effectively destroying two others.

We get daily requests for custom application harness from customers, dealers, magazine editors etc. We try to satisfy as many people as possible given the time. Since you were under time restraints we could not meet your deadline. Most people who order custom product do so in the winter months were time is not usually an issue and the production dept here is not running overtime.

Phone orders and inquiries are left to our dealers so we can concentrate on production and design. In many cases it is faster to go through a dealer for certain items. There is also the possibility that a dealer would have been willing to modify an off-the-shelf harness for your application which would have put one in your hands right away. You might have considered ordering a FL98 harness and modifying it yourself.

In closing we are sorry we could not get you what you needed within the timeframe you required. We understand your frustration here and desire to own a Racetronix quality harness. Perhaps in the future you may consider a bundled product which will meet your needs. Good luck with your car.

A lot of shops would have hit your credit card and made you either wait or fight it out.

Racetronix gave back the money without even being asked...which I think is good business.
