Is 3500 enough?

So I had been thinking about doing an engine swap over the past year to get rid of my not-so-powerful V6. I am at college right now which specializes in automotive technology. I overheard from some kid that the college has done engine swaps for a very small amount of money.(which is only a $7 shop fee, YES $7). I was thinking about dropping in an LT1, LS1s would be SLIGHTLY out of my price range. But the LT1 would nearly double my HP and TQ. I can get a LT1/460LE with fairly low miles(70k) for about $2500-$2700. I know i need more stuff like motor/trans mounts, fuel pump, exhaust, and better gears. So is it possible? I can't let up a $7 shop fee. Any info would be great.

Ryan

P.S. Would it cost more to drop a Corvette LT1? Or should I just stick with an F-Body?

Axle/Gears: bunch of 10 bolts how scary is that
I paid 1000$ for my LT1 conversion with 60K miles. If you look around you can grab a LT1 for about 600 - 1000$ then a 4L60E for about 500$. Then use that shop fee to your advantage Your very lucky lol.

I give 2700 for my LT1/T56 setup with the radiator and fans, 2500-2700 seems a little high for one with an auto, should be closer to about 1700 or so.

Its a 95 Corvette Lt1 with everything on it including the trans. Thats probably why it is so much.( I am guessing) But its also local so i can pick it up rather that paying to get it shipped.

You shouldn't need to change your fuel pump, and gears are not mandatory.

Swap the pump, best thing in the world....get the 255lph Walbro that way if you ever do anything to the motor you won't have to worry about fuel pressure in the future. Gears really aren't needed, unless you want a posi in the car, then go ahead and swap the gears out to something that will make the LT1 a bit more fun to drive. One other thing, I don't remember when they did it (maybe on just the LS1's) but I'm wanting to say that the Corvette's are fly by wire, but like I said it may only be on the LS1's
