Blue valve covers...Yes or no?
I'm debating wether or not I want to paint my valve covers blue to match my fuel rail covers on my LT1 swap. It's also a matching blue to the car(in the background). I like the blue, but I think with the VCs blue as well, there might be to much blue in the engine compartment. What do you think?

I think the blue will set the engine off, I think it'll look great. I'm assuming the firewall is the same blue color?

Its your car man go with your instincts, i think it would look good with some nice black VC's and maybe that blue on the TB plate (with custom lettering or decal)
But it looks damn good already

Well, I did it. I figured what the heck, if I don't like it, it's easy to put back

The color is Plasti-Kote "Metal Flake" #311 Blue Metal Flake, avalible in rattle can. It's not the most durable I know, but if I decide I like it, I'll find an exact body color match and do it "right."

I say intake is fine the way it is, do the TB plate and call it done, that looks SWEET. Blue on grey; you can't beet that color scheme.

The water pump wants to be blue too! The water pump looks good painted. My brother did silver, black, and gold on his LT4 TransAm. (The intake is gold for nostalgia, i.e. Smokey and the Bandit.)
the stock alternator is kind of ugly too. he painted his black to make it NOT the center of attention as it seems to make itself, but that blue is so cool, the alt might look good blue. Don't go overboard, but definitely paint the TB plate.

I really think all you need to do is just clean up and polish all the metal parts to get em nice and shiny and they'll be a perfect match for the stuff you have that's blue already
