Photos from the weekend's work

Finished up modding the stock ls1 harness, ran the wires. Mounted the radiator hoses, accessories, heater hoses (with a bypass), and lots of other misc. When i did the brake lines i moved them to the other side of the steering shaft to clean up the enginebay. I ran the wires into the passenger compartment.

I learned that there is a difference in the exhaust flange for the 98 vs 01 style exhaust manifolds. The 98's have the flange closer to the firewall, the newer style has it further forward.

On the heater hoses i wanted to maintain a heater core bypass to keep the hot air out. Ls1's need to have the return T'd back to the motor. Do not send the hot water back to the radiator - you will have cooling issues.

Very happy with how it looks, just need to finish up the inside next.

Something I've noticed on mine and a lot of other swaps and I don't know the answer. Why is the motor shifted to passengers side?? It's really been ticking my off trying to get my ram-air filter setup right.

So your using the stock airbox? Don't you think thats going to be a major restriction?

Not sure, used spohn motor mounts.

I do believe that it is a major restriction, but it will do for the time being. Once everything is finished and running i can redo this later.

Thanks,
James
