dual fans...stock or LT1??

dual fans...stock or LT1??
for those of you who have done the LT1 swap, would the stock dual electric fans work with the LT1 properly, or do you need LT1 dual electric fans?? also, will a tranny cooler for a 700R4 work for a 4L60-E??
Really, all you NEED is one fan. The thirdgen fans will work off of the LT1 wiring, the fans are either on or off. Tranny cooler for a 700R4 will work for a 4l60e.

I've installed both, both work fine keeping the car cool, havent tested the thirdgen ones with the a/c working yet, the LT1 fans on its radiator keep the car cool even with the a/c here in FL. The thirdgen radiator is actually bigger and the fans still move plenty of air, and the setup fits better so IMO that would be the preferrible setup.

I am running the LT1 radiator and dual fans. I have one fan staight wired to when its on when the switch is on. The other isn't even hooked up yet. Its 70 degrees right now and the car isn't having a single problem with cooling. I'll be hookin the other fan up to a switch this weekend.

Mine went in with very little modification too the plastic piece that holds it in place.
Hey Net_Coma, your climbing temps when driving slowly sounds like your fan isn't coming on. My 86 IROC did that too...I just wired up a manual switch and a relay to run the fan, no more high temps around town. (This was while I was living in FL so it was pretty warm out).

If you have it wired to the LT1 PCM, they are default set to not come on after 35mph.
I had to drill the hole for the mount on the passenger side in the lower radiator support, then I cut down an LT1 upper support and used the stock mount holes to bolt it to. I personally think it looks pretty good.
