Made my own, and put a K&N Conical filter on the end I had, but I also moved my battery to the passenger side so I could use the LT1 elbow.
I'm using the chrome cheap $20 or so one off of ebay. Its 2.5" though. I'm thinking about making my own custom one that will be at least 3" but probably 4".
I'm also using the metal vortec elbow, i had it with those plastic ones.
If you have a K&N filter, don't over-oil it. The oil can get on the contacts of the MAF and give the MAF a false reading. No biggie, just use cleaning alcohol with a q tip and be careful to clean the MAF.

I used the k&n cold air intake with my swap. I bought the intake for the lt1 and it mounded fine, up on the driver side where the battery was.
