LTX and LSX Putting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.

Finally!! Some "finished" pics...lots of pics... Some vids coming soon!

Hey everyone! I want to thank you all for the help Ive gotten on this board while doing my swap. I definetly wouldnt have gotten it done in the short time frame that I did without this board. Thanks!!

Anyway Ive been driving her for several days now. I still have a couple bugs to work out. Like getting the exhaust finished up alittle better. It shifted on me and is now hitting something when I hit bumps.

I gave her a bath and snapped some pics yesterday since it was nice. The interior is pretty much 100% done for now. Everything is together. Then only things left to do is hook up a few little odds and ends int he engine bay. The bay is alittle dirty and messy right now. I need to spend some time cleaning it up and tucking some more wires. Im debating on getting coil covers to help hide the ugly stuff.

I will take some vids/sound clips from the inside/outside soon. I gotta get alittle better at driving her first!! The car is a beast. Enough to keep me on my toes for a bit. And the magnaflow exhaust makes it sound just plain mean. Ok...on to some pics. Let me know what you think!!!

This picture is for everyone trying to tackle a job like this... Maybe you dont have a nice garage, expensive tools, or even a ton of experience. But just keep at it and be determined...its all worth it when you take that first drive down the street believe me. I have a garage...but its so small that you can barely walk around in it with a car in there. Plus with all the parts and boxes from parts, I can barely get from the front to the back as it is!

Everything that I did to the car was done right where it is sitting. It was on jackstands for a couple months. The only thing that wasnt done in the driveway was the final alignment. Maybe this will help inspire some of ya to get started on your projects!

you did an awesome job! congrats! I have a question about the horn button. I got the same stock button from a mid 80s firebird and I have the same or very similar grant steering wheel. I looked at swapping the firebird emblem over, but it seems to be just a little bit too small. How did you go about making it work? I have some ideas, but It'd be great to know how someone else got it to work.

Thanks man! I hated seeing the PILOT in the middle. Here is my original thread for doing the work.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...termarket.html

I honestly dont remember exactly how I did it...but I remember having to shave some off of the firebird button. then i just kept eating away at both parts until it sat to my liking. Then I used some thin double sided tape which has held up to this day. Good luck! It looks super good when its done!

Yup... 4th gen console, seats, pedals, motor, trans, driveshaft, rear, rear control arms, gas tank, fuel lines, washer bottle, overflow bottle, fuse/power distribution boxes, complete A/C system....and....Probably more. I used more of that 99 than I thought I would thats for sure. Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks guys.

Night and day difference doesnt even being to describe the experience. haha. First of all...its stick now. Second of all, I probably multiplied my power output by 4... Third of all...it rides freaking sweet now! Its stiff but the ride is nice. It was a nice surprise because I was thinking that it was going to ride like a brick.

The radio install made me very happy. The old install kit had the head unit sticking out another inch. Looked dumb in my opinion. That kit came free with the headunit. I also didnt use a wiring kit...I soldered the head unit's harness right to my originaly car wiring. Since Ill never be putting a stock radio back in, and Ill always have a pioneer most likely, I figured I might as well save space and not have that big connector mess behind the head unit.

Plus that HU has a fan and is air cooled...so I figured Ide free up more air.

I finally got the MAF situation figured out..small error in my harness modification. ALl is well now and the car feels better. It pulls like a friggin freight train.
