rhetorical mount questions...
has there actually been anyone who has figured out what mount package works best on the third gen car/ls swap yet? I'm looking at the trans dapt kit right now but not sure since I've heard so little about them. Seems like every company has a different issue with fit and NONE work well without some real persuasion....even the more pricey ones. I'm shying away from the tubular crossmember for budgetary reasons if nothing else. I'm also doing a TH350 with a divorced torque arm so I'll have to find or fab a tranny member as well unless there a ready-made one for that too. I guess I'm just used to the old school way of just dropping a motor in, wire it, fire it and go. This LS stuff is a huge change but I think it will be well worth it. Thanks for any info and even pics if available, Bill

I thought you could use the stock x-member? I didn't think the trans mount location was different from 700 to a 350. Let me know if I'm wrong...
I'll have to make some measurements on the trans mounts to see about the stock crossmember. My primary question has to do with motor mounts. I will need to solid mount my motor since it's primary duty will be spent 1/8 mile at a time. I was wondering about using the block plate adapters and a normal solid mount(moroso etc) to mount it to the frame. I just want to get the damned thing set in place so I can decide where I want everything to fit etc. It's almost frustrating enough to stay with a conventional sbc. It's bound to get better.......
