Who is running what compression and why?
I was in another thread where a member had a 408 with 9:1 but with a load of juice on top of it. i got curious as to what people are running and why. my thing with the 408 is, 9:1 is ecent for boost but these ls motors love the 11-12:1 setups and are street friendly even with a chunky cam. doesnt fit to me as it wasnt my build.
my setup is an lq4 with 9.6:1 SCR (~8.3 dcr)because the lq comes with dished pistons and i A) didnt have cash for forged slugs and B) i want boost so it all works out. hopefully i still make 400ish at the wheels. it should get me 12s-11s the way it is now.

Mine is close to 11:1... No reason why. Thats how my motor came in the donar car. The how is MTI stage 2 5.3L heads milled .030.
Cam is a decent sized cam. Car runs mid 11's... Well that was in the 4th gen vert with a dying auto trans. Very streetable. I get almost 30mpg on the highway crusing in 6th. The only part that makes driving on the street a pain is the lightweight flywheel. Just hard to get used to starting off and all that jazz.
