My ignition is not getting power!!!!!!

I've been trying to finish up the wiring on my 87 camaro 5.3L swap. Now I've come across a problem... My ignition does not get power. The fuse box inside the car gets power. Why am I not getting power to my ignition. I fed the fuse box inside with a wire coming from a maxifuse. Then the dizzy wire is going to A9 of the light grey connector on the fuse box. I then sent the purple starter wire to the starter relay trigger which was actually on the other side of the P/N safety switch. Help me out guys. I'm ready to hear it bust off!!

Whats a dizzy wire? What do you mean by ignition not getting power? No spark, no power at coils, no signal from PCM? what?

Re: My ignition is not getting power!!!!!!

dizzy is distributor. I'm saying the ignition you put the key in is not getting power... Distributor wire is powered by the key on position. i got power at my inside fuse panel. I am not getting power to my ignition. So exactly as I said my IGNITION is NOT getting POWER. Coils, PCM, spark all that does not matter right now. I need to get power to the IGNITION before I can get power to any of that.

Well I'll try but if you want good help your gonna have to explain more it makes little sense to me.

5.3's dont have a distributer hence why I asked and why I wonder you are still mentioning it? That circuit should be gone.

You have to power up the fuse box from the battery via a fusable link if you want it to work. Have you done that?

Re: My ignition is not getting power!!!!!!

When I said distributor wire I was speaking of the stock car wiring from the bulkhead. I just need power to the ignition. which is fed from the fuse box inside the car on the stock wiring. The 5.3 wiring has nothing to do with the ignition not getting power if the interior fuse panel gets power.

There is at least one ground coming out of the C100 that used to connect to your stock engine is that hooked up?

Re: My ignition is not getting power!!!!!!

I have the pin outs for an 87 carb IROC but its not what you need. Your going to run into more of these problems if you dont make some printouts and cross reference over your third gen connections to your 5.3 connections. A spread sheet is what I did something like this;

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...s1-wiring.html

C100 pin outs are different year to year and model to model so you will have to find the one that matches your year car and VIN. If I post mine its only going to confuse you further.

Spend a little more time researching your homework and get your schematic down before you attempt to wire anymore circuits and have it laid out on paper first. Then as I have said before label every single wire coming out of your car and every single one from your engine harness and then confirm what you need or dont need and hook up what you want and delete what you dont. You have to be certain about this! Its not hard just take it one wire at a time and if you dont know? Post up the pin/s in question and their function and you will find lots of support. Your post above is very vague and tricky to understand so it makes it hard for us to help. Good luck

Re: My ignition is not getting power!!!!!!

ODD now that I look at the pin outs from the C100 diagram I dont see one for a ground but I know I have one coming from there to my grounding block. It was black with an eye on it thats all I can say

What pin was the ground on yours. Did your car have the auxilliary pump in the tank? What pin was that?
