Does anyone have the speartech wiring harness?

I'm thinking about getting speartech's new harness and then having them reprogram my computer.

I have a corvette motor/ wiring harness with a few wires that needed repair and alot of loom missing. Plus i don't think the transmission connectors are on it. On top of that i'm debating about getting rid of the drive by wire setup since i don't have the computer for it.
My guess is all of the engines sensors should be the same between the Y and F body but i would verify that with spearthech when i order it.

So is anyone using one of their harnesses or have an opinion on the route i should take.

On that note i got the engine/tranny in with the spohn k-member:

How do you plan on mounting the ETC gas pedal?

I already have it mounted. I welded two bolts onto the floor. Then the gas pedal slides right onto them. You can see the pedal in this picture:

Interesting. The 4th gen ETC pedal is way off and I had to make a bracket that turned it sideways, brought it out ~2" I had to make a mounting point on the top side of the firewall and cut out part of the steering wheel brace as well. Just looked up a Vette ETC pedal on Ebay and it looks way, way less bulky and awkward. Must be nice I was just curious to how you mounted it b/c, though I haven't searched a lot, I'd never seen anyone else that had kept the electronic throttle in their swap.

Re: Does anyone have the speartech wiring harness?

I have a harness from Speartech, it was complete and tagged and it works great. Give them a call and speak with John, he'll tell what you need to send in and can advise you about your computer needs. I had to send the engine harness off my Z28, which he spliced into, to make my LS2 work. I have had to call him a few times with some wiring issues unrelated to what he built for me and was more than willing to help.

Re: Does anyone have the speartech wiring harness?

I sent him an email a little bit earlier tonight. I noticed for $50 more i can get a harness built for the Electronic Throttle Control. So that might be the route i take.

Another question for you guys. I pulled my 91 harness out and was easily able to seperate the TBI harness from the rest of the car. I noticed the harness that goes to the front bumper(lights, airbag, etc) went throught the firewall to the dash on the driverside. Did you guys leave this at that location and just disconnect your engine harness from the firewall?

I'm not sure how Vettes are, but the ETC on 4th gens had the wiring as part of that bundle of wires going to the headlights and stuff. I used the front wiring from a 4th gen which made it much more simple. If they build it with the ETC in the engine harness though it's probably different.

4th gen f-bodys didn't have ETC correct? Only the corvettes. I know some SUV's and trucks had it too.

The corvette has the connector that goes to the throttle body build into the engine harness. Also the the connector that goes into the TAC is built into the engine harness too right next to the ECU plugs. This is because the TAC and ECU were mounted together. Then the Dash harness has the the wiring that Connects the gas pedal to the TAC. This is the same way speartechs harness apears to be also.

Re: Does anyone have the speartech wiring harness?

Guess I should have clarified. The late V6 models had ETC... that's what I swapped into my Camaro. 2002 3800/T5 drivetrain and a 2001 Camaro dash.
