Header clearance issues

So I finally got my headers installed. Using the Hedman with the D-ports. And I have 1/8" clearance near my brake lines, and near my air box with my evap-core. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you have any issues with heat? How did you rectify this problem? Thanks again.

Re: Header clearance issues

I'm not sure which Hedman's you are using but mine were also very close to the brake lines. I had to carefully bend my brake lines away from the headers. You really, really don't want them close to all that heat!!!

Re: Header clearance issues

I used the same ones with the same problems. My passenger side header actually melted a very small part of the heater box when I first got the car running.

Re: Header clearance issues

Sounds about right, mine is close to the evap box and brake lines, haven't had any problems yet.

Re: Header clearance issues

On my LS1 the header is close to the fuel and brake lines. Not close to the HVAC box... But Ive never had a problem with the lines. I took it to the outer banks this summer. Bout an 8 hour drive no stopping except for gas. And never had a problem. If you are worried, wrap the lines in whatever your favorite heat wrap is.
