Re: Christmas Time - LS2
Looks like a nice find!
One question though - WHY on earth does it seem like everyone sends their car out for paint, and does the mechanical work AFTER that??? That's just always seemed exactly the reverse of what it should be (if the swap's done first, you're not risking scratches/dings/damage to the new paint job)...
Anyway, good luck with the project!

He's probably getting everything repainted--including under the hood.

GTO swaps are not very well documented here so please post up your progress as you go. It looks to me as if those accessories should all clear but these are questions we need definitive info on. Are you doing up your own harness?

Re: Christmas Time - LS2

I might rough fit it first and then get it painted to avoid too much messing around. I'm waiting for a K member, then i'll start on it.
I'll see if i can do a write up as i go. I hope to bond the harness together on my own. We'll see. Already spent enough money so far. haha

Re: Christmas Time - LS2
just some advise change the clutch now and save the efforts to do it later. ours barely held on before the l92 heads and cam, now its slower (more power) and burns the the hell out of the clutch (why its slower)
follow the link to see our swap list and pic's,
YES the accessories all fit just fine
keep in mind the 06 has a 54 time reluctor, and you'll need a 98 f-body h2o and oil sender

You'll need the F-car oil pan for sure - I've been told by a couple guys that have swapped GTO motors to the F-cars that the pan is different.
