What's the first LS1 3rdgen swap you saw/heard about?
I think the first one I ever heard about was my friend chris back in early 2003.
The thing was put together before that, but I didn't know him then.
As far as I know you couldn't buy a thing for the swap back then and not really anybody had tried it so I doubt documentation existed.
Instead he had 2 3rdgen RS's hit on opposite ends.
Cut them both in half, Welded the cars together and made one good one, put an entire ls1/t56 setup in them, along with the entire 4th gen dash and seats.
Pretty damn impressive for 02/03.
Anybody heard of or did the swap sooner?

I say for certain it was TJ's(stage20) from here in Pensacola. His car was and still is the most perfect example of what a street driven race car should be. Everything about it is top shelf. His car even got my wife going about doing something good with our 3rd gen. I'm in the midst of the swap now myself!!

The first guy on these boards was Frost IIRC ( I know his username started with an F but i dont recall if that was his exact name ) Anyways it was a blue 91-2 with a bit of a body kit on it. He had one for about a year before anyone else started diving in and posting about it he was real quiet about how great they are. Then Roy Fender of F body resource built one that splashed the pages of a few magazines and they showed pics of his frame notching for the A/C and whatnot. White 91 vert very beautiful car. Around that time we started this infamous thread here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...all-block.html
And that seemed to be the start of us accepting that the LS1 was the best route to go not just for power but for $$$ too. Once the cost dropped to an even split we all started jumping in. Anyways thats the largest info about the LS1 swap talk that hit these boards.
