LS7 swap anybody???

I know the LS7 is the motor dreams are made of but, I have been looking around this forum and a few others looking for an LS7 swap into a thirgen. I just would love to see it in the engine bay of a thirdgen. Would the install be pretty much the same as an f-body LS1 (except for the drive by wire, oil pan, and accesories)? Just curious!!

And come up with the massive amounts of $$$ to purchase one Other than that, the process is about the same as an LS1 swap.

Naaaaahhh, these days it's the LS9... (Wait another year or two, & it'll be something else entirely!)

Yeah, ghettocruiser's right, once you address the oiling system, the accessories & the cost, it's essentially just the same as an LS1 swap. I'm using the DBW functionality in my swap, that's becoming fairly common now as well.

Re: LS7 swap anybody???

I dont think anyone has got one into a thirdgen, but feel free to be the first, id be interested in seeing the dry sump oiling system in a thirdgen.

Im planning a DBW setup into my iroc, just need a pedal to arrive so i can make up a bracket. Otherwise its easy.

If your looking to swap in an LS7 for power, imo its not worth the coin. Seeing i can get 550+ RWHP from a 5.3L with a turbo setup that would cost me $5k in the end including all turbo parts & the motor.

Re: LS7 swap anybody???

I just wanted to throw out that GM will soon offer a 515hp LS3 crate engine.
Part number is 19171225 and it's a carbed LS3 with the hot cam swap. The major advantage is the price, I expect it to be 6500-7000 since the 480hp fuel injected LS3 is 6300-6600. Thats half the price of the LS7 and a bit simpler swap.
