LT1 Swap Fuel Pump

So I'm looking for some recommendations for a fuel pump for my LT1 swap. I have the gas tank dropped so an intank pump is probably the best way to go. The engine will have some minor mods and I would like to keep the fuel gauge working.

any suggestions?

Re: LT1 Swap Fuel Pump

I used a tpi sender, the pump was a tpi 255lph one from holley but it has walbro 255 written on it.

You can also get a racetronix unit that is REALLY nice with an upgraded harness.

Re: LT1 Swap Fuel Pump

I put a stock replacement TPI pump in when I originally did my swap, but there is no reason not to put a Walbro in if the tank is already dropped

Re: LT1 Swap Fuel Pump

Thanks for the info guys. I had tried to pick up a used Tpi fuel sending unit but it fell through. The 255 Walbro sounds like more than enough for me.

Re: LT1 Swap Fuel Pump

You can use a TBI and a V6 sending unit if you need too. Don't just get fixated on the TPI garbage......

I can't hear my 255lph walbro either

inline pumps are considerably louder, especially the Holley low pressure inline pumps. My brother had one on his '78 T/A and it sounded like a WW2 fighter about to start up when he turned the pump on.

I can't hear the walbro either, and I have one in both the GTA and the Mustang.

Re: LT1 Swap Fuel Pump

I don't think that the post about the failure is the norm, it certainly wouldn't dissuade me from buying the pump again, especially after how well it has performed for me.

For those thinking aeromotive, I have had two failures from them that barely made it out of the driveway, but still not enough for me to say one way or the other.. when dealing with mass quantities failures happen.

about the best recommend I can make is to go with the racetronix walbro, supports more horsepower, excellent harness, etc.
