Looks like an LS1 to me. Might be LS6, but I couldn't tell you that.

The oil pan might be off of an F-body. Here is a link with pictures and dimensions of all the lsx oil pans.

Accessories, oil pan, motor mounts are all F-body. This is an f-body ls1. Which doesnt matter because it is the same engine.

Re: Corvette LS1, OR IS IT?
Looks like a mid 2000 or older F-body LS1 to me judging by the manifolds those are the same as what my 99 came with. I cant even recall now what year the exhaust manifolds went to cast iron now was it 2000 or 01? Anyways I'd be laying the dough down that what you have is out of an F-body as opposed to a Vette.
Mind you thats nothing but bonus for you if your plan is a third gen swap. Internally the engines are IDENTICAL and you get all the goodies that you would need to buy with this engine anyways so congrats
Mind you the pan does look a lot older than the block so it looks to me as if its been appart so its very possible that the block and? is Vette

Perimiter bolt valve covers, 98 F-body, centerbolt valve covers 99+ f-body, I'm going to say it's a '98 or '99 f-body due to the stainless manifolds they started putting the cast manifolds back on in 2000

Re: Corvette LS1, OR IS IT?
its a 98 or mid 99 F-body LS1. Mid 99 they went to the newer manifolds, and the mounts + pan are a dead giveaway that its an f-body one

Re: Corvette LS1, OR IS IT?
The Results are in!
1999 Pontiac Firebird LS1
Congratulations to those who guessed it.

Sorry, No Prizes.
----------
I purchased this motor a while back and was told it was from a vette. Maybe that person was lying or didn't know.
Regardless, its a relief to me that I don't need to track down an oil pan to make it fit.
Thanks to all who replied. The links above were very helpful in decoding the block.
