5.3 truck engine in 85 trans am
I thought you could use all of the acc. from a truck engine except the oil pan. I guess I'm wrong? I have been searching I thought someone had done it. chop the hood.

no the alternator is too tall. So either buy relocation brackets or a complete fbody setup

You can use all of the truck stuff if you really want to.
Pan will hang too low though and your probably going to tear the bottom off it on your first drive.
As for acc, the alternator sits high and would require a wide cowl hood (jongbloed or something i think covers) and you can use the truck intake also if you go this route.
Speartech's thirdgen uses truck acc.
