1994 CHEVY CAPRICE LT1 swap

ok yes I know there is alot here about swaping the LT1 into a third generation, but I also know that some people seam to get mad when people write on old treads so there is mine.

My end goal is to have an LT1 in a third generation, like I see some of you all have done. The thing is that I'm a college student so I have no money.
I have a chance of getting a 1994 chevy caprice police edition with the LT1 engine for like 500 bucks. I would think that this should be the same engine they put in the 94 camaro. So in my head the swap should go just like it has for those of you that have gotten an LT1 from a 4th generation Camaro.
Please correct me if I am wronge with this assumption, Thanks

Also I will have the whole car so do you all think the wiring harness will be able to work on the 3rd generation camaro and maybe some other parts aswell from the Caprice?

I yet do not have my camaro (remember no money) but I plan to try to find a good deal on a nice Iroc body so thats my plan, can some people help me out and drill some holes on this plan so I can make a more educated purchasing decision. thanks

Re: 1994 CHEVY CAPRICE LT1 swap

i believe the engines are slightly different in cam and heads, but the only way this effects you is that you would have more low end torque and power down low and less way up top.

IMO, this isnt really a bad thing.
good luck

well since ill have a little while to work with the engine, i can work on customizing the engine to what I want it to do. which is be a great street car or track racer, what recomendations do you recoment, and since ill be working on the engine before i actually install it into a 3rd generation camaro, what customs might make it now fit well? thanks

the whole car would be a good buy, that way you get all the little parts needed to help with the swap and you can sell off the stuff you don't need or use, where are you located?

Re: 1994 CHEVY CAPRICE LT1 swap

He means you need to look up the pinout for your 3rd gen, then look at the pinout for the LT1

Splice as necessary

The link I sent you spoon feeds the incredibly complicated process, so lets have no more new threads about what to do until you actually read it please
