What is different about LS2/LS3 vs LS1/LS6 vs LS76/L92/LS7?
I read the following in another post an am considering an LS swap for my 91 street car.
"I'm wanting an LS2/LS3 and NOT an LS1/LS6 because I'd like to be be able to use the newer L76/L92/LS7 stuff to get more power in the future".
What is the difference in these engines. what are the pro and cons and potential of each. I would want to do the best I could.
I believe that I can fab or have fabed anything that is needed to include headers. I am good at wiring. I would want to keep a manual trans.

No need for the info.. Provided the budget will support it go LS3 and be done with it.. specifically the gmpp ls3/480 pretty good deal, good power, mileage etc.. get the matching computer and harness, throw a t56 behind it and you are pretty much done.
some nice combos can also be seen at www.mastmotorsports.com , spendy though.
IMO to do it with an LS3 properly will take about 10k.. do you have the coin?

a real quick short list. From what Ive read is this crankshaft relucter is different number of teeth on ls1 to ls2 and knock sensors are in difrent locations. l92 usees a compleatly diffrent intake to work. I will eventualy be building a 6.0 lkq engine similare to ls1 with l92 heads and l76 intake for my swap if I ever get some cash.

Look for wrecked LS1 fbodies, or trucks if you go the 5.3 / 6.0 route.
