Havent figured out where to mount my PS resevoir yet.

Pretty stock, just minor head work and new GM parts. Gas is getting too expensive for mods right now, lol.

Here's mine. It seems that something is missing, though. I wonder what it could be.

It is all together now. Took off the Accessories bracket to strip it back down to metal since it was causing a grounding problem since I coated it. I also got a Tuff Stuff 200amp Polished Alternator. I will get it all together again next weekend and I will get more pictures then.

The engine bay has what looks like overspray everywhere or a spotchy paint attempt. I keep delaying it but I have to clean it up.

Re: Lets see your third gen LT1 engine bays!

@ SweetRide. What part type number or specs is the intake piping after the maf? Looking to do something similar for mine.

Here is another updated picture. My engine bay needs to be painted very badly. Gonna do that soon before it gets colder.

A quick polishing of everything and the engine bay pops. This weekend looks to be a good one so that weekend seems like the time to show off.

It looks like part of the eBay kit I have. I bought mine from a seller called chrome intakes.

Yep! It's an Ebay kit. Doesn't really matter WHO makes it...it's just a bent pipe...however, this was so cheap and good quality, didn't make sense to spend more and/or make it and have 0 gains

Nice, looks like you are running a Tuff Stuff Alt too? How is it working for you? Also seeing that the Ebay piping is what I need after those last pictures.

Re: Lets see your third gen LT1 engine bays!

I will have to take a picture of my engine bay tomorrow and post some pictures. It's not clean or pretty looking, and it's completely different then everyone else's LT1 swapped 3rd gen's here...but it's simple and functional.

It was a joke when I posted my empty engine bay. I'll post mine up when I get my frickin' engine done and installed. It's going to be clean.

Fiero rack, Fiero shaft. Its full manual for the drag car. I picked it because I had one, it weighs almost nothing and is small

Re: Lets see your third gen LT1 engine bays!

QUESTION:

I am wondering if the steam line from the heads can go onto that second nipple under the radiator cap on the LT1 radiator. One nipple is for the overflow and the other is for the steam line I THINK. Am I right?

Doesn't the stock configuration go this way:

steam line to passenger side TB, driver's side line from TB to radiator nipple?

Ever consider getting rid of the reservoirs on the fenders? I tucked my 4th gen windshield fluid reservoir into the nose of my 86 and used the 4th gen coolant reservoir in the battery tray area. I think it'll clean up the engine bay even more nicely just an idea.

Huh......thats a negative on the ebay intake. I've done all the polishing inside and out by hand. The intake runners on the head have been heavily portmatched and polished as well as the exhaust ports...

No worries bro..... You never know untill you start a conversation.

Hey thanks for the idea for running the 4th gen coolant/windshield washer bottles, but I've got the second cooling fan mounted on the pass. side of the rad. and the external mount oil cooler (off of a 94 caprice intercepter) mounted on the left... The next step I have in store for her besides the T-56, is to remote mount the batt. in the trunk (spare tire area) and get a couple of the billit aluminium bottles and remote mount them under the cowl considering all it really does, besides look kinda pretty, is provide a low pressure cold air flow across the intake and headers...lol lol (I had to think for a min. for a functional use for the cowl).

Added Braided Heater Hoses from Spectra (Just regular hose with sleeving over it) and the intake piping from ebay. Ordered the coupling in black from Summit.

The pipe looks good. I just need to plug up the hole it has on the side of it.

You drill a hole in the elbow and use the small grommet that comes with the elbow and stick the line in there.

Took some pictures of the bay in the Daylight. I will be replacing the blue coupling the ebay tube came with to a black one. Also going to be swapping to a F-Body power steering reservoir.

Just found this thread while searching LT1 swaps because I think I want to do this to my car. Do any of you guys have ported heads and would you recommend it or just get new ones? Also for you guys with built Lt1's how hard/easy would a goal of 350-400 rwhp be?

350-400 is a really easy goal. Looks at LE heads and Cam packs. or AI heads n cams

The LE1 setup will hit your goals

Re: Lets see your third gen LT1 engine bays!

Thanks for the info.

I have a question about the LE1 heads, so for $1200 I would send in the heads of my hypothetical LT1 that I don't own yet, they would port it, AND I would get the custom cam that can make 400+ rwhp? That sounds like a crazy awesome deal.

I think LE has heads already done. You send yours in as a core. etc.. If I was you I would go LE2. you will get the bug to go faster and faster. Go LE2 and grown into them.

Don't forget, your still going to need the upgrades to support the 400hp. Fuel system, tune , suspension , etc..

I know this is probably an over asked question but since I'm already here I might as well ask. How much do you think I'd be looking at for just the fuel system and suspension stuff alone?

I'm just trying to plan everything out know so I know what to save up and I can be ready next year when I would probably be able to do it at the earliest.

Right now I'm thinking at least 5000 for engine/transmission including the LE2 heads and camshaft.

Also do you think a 4th gen rear end will hold up or should I look into something like this? http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/pr...-Assembly.html
