LT4?
LT4?
I dont know if this is the right place to ask this question but here it goes. I just purchased an 96 LT4 block. It's at the machine shop now getting mag'd and hot tanked. Thanks to the low tension rings I can stick with the stock bore after 90k miles. Here is the question, I have a 95 Z with LT1 and a bad block. Can I put all the stuff from the 95 Z28 onto the LT4 block? I mean everything From pan to intake. pistons, crank, accessories, intake, etc, etc?

Re: LT4?
Yea the only difference was the LT4 had higher flowing heads, intake, little better cam and factory 1.6 rr.
Re: LT4?
The guy I bought it from said he was planning on keeping the heads and intake and injectors, but I could probably snag them from him for the right price. That would be nice. The block had 90k on it, and for some reason it ate the cam bearing on the 4th cam bearing journal, didn't spin in the bore though, so I paid 200 for the block and mains. Never heard of that happening, eating a cam bearing. I figure worse case I would have to have the cam bearing bores honed, I seen the cam, and it had heat marks on it, and had looked like metal chunks had carved a groove into that journal. The motor ultimately lost oil pressure. I might have to give him a call back and see what he wants for the whole top end. I was also going to get the crank rods and pistons, for 75 bills, hopefully he has the damper to, I think thats different balance then the Lt1 damper. A little heavier. Good to know that I won't have to source out the front accessory drives and such for corvette, and wont have a problem bolting the Z28 stuff on.
