LS1 swap question

So I just picked up a sweet 43k ls1/t56 complete setup out of a 2001 trans am. Im going to do a swap in my 1992 camaro. The engine came with the complete engine harness. The one question I have so far is where is the DLC OBDII connector? Or do I also have to purchase a dash harness for the DLC. Thanks

Re: LS1 swap question

You can use the same DLC conector thats in the 92. You would just have to re-pin it. and obviuosly the other end be wired to the new computer. Good luck

Re: LS1 swap question

You cannot use the 3rd gen OBDI connector for a OBDII PCM. They are apples to oranges

Luckily, ANY vehicle 96+ will have the connector, with GM vehicles having the correct wires/colors/locations. 4 wires and you're done

Re: LS1 swap question

Non-GM 1996+ cars will also have the same style connector, and the pins can be removed easily.

When you say "good luck" I assume you mean "good luck getting any OBD-II scanner or programmer to connect to it..."

Re: LS1 swap question

my other question is what are everybody using for fuel pumps. I know Hawks sells a pump and harness kit, but it says it fits l98 tpi cars. Or should I run an inline 255 Lph pump with my stock tbi intake pump?

You can replace your in-tank electric pump with one that will feed the LS1.
