Harness plug identification!
Harness plug identification!
I just finished unwrapping/untaping/separating my harness and I'm left with 7 plugs that I can't identify. All of them are attached together by at least 1 wire, so I wasn't able to separate them completely.
Can anybody help me identify these last 7 plugs?
The harness is from a 2005 truck motor if that helps at all.

Re: Harness plug identification!
Seeing that this is a 2005 truck harness, it apparently has the drive-by-wire throttle body. Are those two purple connectors coming from the TAC module?

Re: Harness plug identification!
If i were you i would take this question and put it over on ls1tech.com and they could prolly help you out.
Re: Harness plug identification!
I've got it on ls1tech also, with zero responses. I figured it couldn't hurt to see if any of you had been up this river.
The harness was shipped to me minus the TAC module so I really don't know. I think you're right about at least one of those plugs going to it, though.
One of them was plugged into a small circuit board that is attached by a bracket right below the negative battery cable. Any idea what that one could be?

Another question, when I was de-pinning the harness and labeling everything, there was no mention of any throttle sensor of any sort, and it IS a DBW harness. Do those connectors come from the TAC module harness?
Re: Harness plug identification!
Alright, through a little more investigation I think I figured out the throttle sensor wiring, it appears that it comes directly from the TAC module.
As far as pairing up my 2005 harness with my 2001 motor/sensors, I went through attaching all of the plugs/connectors to see if there were any differences. The ONLY sensor that is different between the harness and engine is the oil pressure sensor, and that doesn't matter because it isn't used in building a stand alone harness.
My lack of research nearly bit me, but it looks like I'm in the clear now. Just need to get it buttoned back up, finish assembling my accessory drive, and drop it into the car!

If you're rebuilding the harness like shown in my how-to thread, then it really doesnt matter what those connectors are. You wont be using them
Best guess left to right
ABS module
Truck bulkhead connector
TAC module
DBW TB connector
Oil pressure to PCM, not gauge
Oil level to PCM
GEN IV knock (should be two of them)

Re: Harness plug identification!
I know for a fact that the last three aren't knock, oil psi, and oil level. You're probably right about the rest, though.
I am trying to follow your how-to guide, I'm just trying to ensure that I don't omit anything that I need.
