Turbo LSx using factory style manifolds???

Looking for any of you with a turbo LSx using factory manifolds, whether truck manifolds or car manifolds. Whish ones did you use to make it fit. I heard all this rave on using truck manifolds flipped backwards and JUST came to find out it doesn't fit in the third gen engine bay!!!

So now that my original plan went to hell, I'm wondering what you guys use for manifolds? Apparently the gearbox placement kills it for fitment with most manifolds facing forward. I DO NOT want to make a log style manifold or use custom made pieces so any help is appreciated!

ur choices are log,
or front mount trucks manifold type with tubular kmember.
why not log type? the log types i make are pumping out over 600rw. as long as wg placement is sized and located correct, with 3in dp will support over 600rw with correct prep engine. the manifold i make works with stock mounts and adapter plate. stock fbody maniold on driver side. x-over. 3in dp. fit under stock hood with efi car intake manifold.
i also have front mount type but with use of tubular kmember in ss hotparts.

Every log style manifold I've seen installed on a turbo V8 has this horendous gurgle noise in between shifts and when downshifting and honestly, I'd use iron manifolds over a log style for that reason only. Any knowledge on that sound and why it's made with log manifolds?

Theres a guy on LS1tech...maxxmitchell is his username I think. He built an iron manifold turbo kit but he has no idea what the drivers side manifold is out of so that doesn't help me much. And I am using an LSx swap BMR K-member too.

You might do well to consider one of those kits that convert the steering to rack and pinion. It'd give you the space, and it'd reduce weight.

I thought about it but I like my power steering way too much for a manual rack conversion. I want this car to handle as I'm doing the entire suspension and a manual rack would kind of ruin that.

Not sure about unisteer's kit, but most of the others do offer quick-ratio power racks.

I was under the influence that a 4th gen rack won't work because of it's size. It's almost impossible to get the steering geometry correct with one which is why everyone uses the manual pinto rack. I'll have to do a little research on the matter.

Re: Turbo LSx using factory style manifolds???

I have seen it done with stock truck manifolds and a stock k member. I know it can be done and it didn't look impossibly hard. The owner wont let me take pictures of it though to prove it can be done. Just know that one of the turbo 3rd gens you have seen on the net has it done.
