What a sweet build. You have one hell of a car there!
Thanks man... I'm taking a lot of time with my build but not going cheap or rushing anything together......... yet. Lol
Some updated pics here guys. I just received my ls3 harnes. Ls7 clutch and flywheel. Clutch hydraulics. I have some work cut out for me now. I want to do the cleanist harness install i can. Wish me luck
Read over this

Info is centered around GEN III PCMs. GEN IV are different, but the basic schematics are very similar between. The process is repeatable and will give you a VERY clean install
Id suggest dumping the LS3 fuseblock and reuse the 3rd gen block under the dash and remote relays relocated somewhere hidden. All of the fuse points are contained in the C100/C207 that relate to the engine. This site has great info about building your own fuseblock should you decide you need to

Please post a few detailed pics of the PCM connectors and the terminals if you can. Im very interested in how those go together

I will post pictures tomorrow. Those are some great articles you made there pocket...... Fortunatley i bought a ls3 harness from gm. The harness is great. Comes with the drive by wire peddal and pcm. To get a cleaner install i have been shortening up some of the connectors. I have not decided what im going to do with the fuse block or pcm.... I was kicking around the idea of putting them inside...... But i also think i can do it cleanly installing it in the engine compartment. Hiding some of the nasty looking areas such as the stock harness location. I dont know ill come up with something good... I hope.

when its all done in want to see burnout/donut and track videos
Here are some closeup's of the computer and fuse panel. I was going to mount them inside but this seemed to turn out pretty good. Let me know what ya think. Also a close up of my line lock and praportioning valve. And the bracket i made for that.

looking real nice! Im glad you managed to fit the plug wires around the HAWKS headers that was one of my worries as I would be uber pissed the day of plug wire installation if I found they didnt fit and had to order new ones and wait a week or two more before start up.
Anyways regarding your build thats a very very clean project man congrats!

Nicely done!
I'm not trying to high-jack this thread, but I have a question...
I'll be doing an LS swap here pretty soon and I was wondering if it's possible to re-use my LT-1 style T-56 with an LS motor?

Swap the front plate, input shaft and bellhousing. Use the LSx hydraulic TOB
Very early LT1 T56's use an 11ppr VSS signal, later LT1 and LSx T56's use the standard 17ppr. A tuner can fix the conversion factor for that. 93's didnt use CAGS, not like you'd want it anyways
Usually its cheaper to sell the LT1 style to a SBC guy and buy a LSx unit

Sucks cause mine came from a '97 TA with 11,000 miles. The stickers on it still looked new and it shifts like a dream!

The good news is that your transmission is like solid gold to anybody who wants a T56 in a small block application, so you should be able to get good money for it.Originally Posted by 1bad91Z

I am assuming this is the corvette accessory setup on the front? What power steering hose(s) did you wind up going with?

Yes that is the c-6 corvette setup... I bought it from pace performance.. The power steering hoses where a pain. I used the stock 4th gen hose with a lot of bending. It was tough to find one that fit good.Originally Posted by scooter

Thanks for the reply. Any chance you could take a picture of how you got it setup? My concern was that since the PS pump is in a different spot than the f-body that it wasnt going to fit. I dont think I am getting the hoses with the setup I bought so I will have to buy new onces anyway.Originally Posted by timmyboy

Intake looks good i think.... for homemade. Still want to send that out and get it polished. I also just bought c5 zo6 wheels Ill post pics of those tonight. Anyone have a fourth gen 9" or 12 bolt for sale with disc brakes? Thanks -Tim
Also if anyone wants my stock polished and clear coated wheels they are for sale. 500.00 Takes them with the yokohama tires!!!

cant wait to see this thing runnin!

Do your fuel lines route through the wheel well? Looks nice! Got anymore closeup pics of that area?
Yes my fuel lines run through the wheel Wells. Then along side the subframe connectors to the back where my pump and sump are at. I will post more pics for you tomorrow.

4th Gen lines run through the fender well, so I guess its not so unheard of. I like the Idea of having the fuel lines out and away from exhaust heat and engine heat. Perhaps when I re-do the fuel line routing during stage 2 of my build I may do something like this.
I would have moved them to a little less intrusive place. Still a beautiful car though

how much was this engine swap if i may ask?
Pocket: If you could see where the fuel lines are ran exactly you would probably have a different opinion. I was concerend myselft at first.
f18piolot5: Do you mean just the engine swap and thats it? Or my whole entire swap including fuel, gauges, trans, rearend, wheelsl, suspension, ect ect ect.... Cause im way over 15,000 if thats what you want to know... I have not gone cheep on anything yet though. Im hoping it will all be worth it. -Tim

I would like to see your routing. Please post pics? A different routing than OEM inside the driver frame rail is very attractive for LT headers and a returnless fuel system. Originally Posted by timmyboy

Here are some pics of the fuel system without my cover over the lines in the wheel wells. They are far away from the tires and well behind my coil overs. I was happy getting them away from exhaust heat

Thats who i bought mine from. Except i am not using an aluminum flywheel. Yes that setup it used for The ls1 f-body style trans. I am going to be using a magnum t-56. Rated at 700 ft lbs of torque. I will take a picture of my subframe connectors when i get the car up in the air for you.

Nice build!! I have never seen anyone use any accessories besides the f-body ones. Besides the power steering lines did you have to fab anything for it to work? Would it clear a stock K-member? I have read in several places that corvette accessories would interfere with part of the steering but I guess they are all wrong.
Keep in mind these are c6 accesories. Im not sure if they would clear a stock k member. Looking at it i would not see why they wouldnt. I did not have to do any modifications at all. And in my opinion these are the cleanest looking accesories on a third gen.
Member
I have the same accessories and they clear the stock k-member.
What doesn't work is the A/C.
The old corvette accessories - 97-04 were the problem ones

Big money spent!! Pics coming. Just oreder a moser 9" with wilwood brake setup. And c5 z06 brake parts for front i will post pics soon.

It looks like an awesome build. I can't wait to start mine when I get back from my Afghan Deployment.
Here is some pics of the moser rear. Didnt scimp out with the money on this.. Aluminun center section, 411 gears. 12.5" wilwood crossdrilled/ slotted brake package, I painted everthing. Single stage black on the housing, red single stage on the calipers.

Beautiful build! Going for the clean look, im surprised to see that you didnt go with the Fourth Gen wiper washer tank installed on the front of the core support, under the plastic nose cover.
Here are the c5 zo6 brakes. They look great!!

Looks good. What brand of rotors are those?
Some updated pics. This is how the car is sitting now. Kind of going backwards.. All the brakes look very good. just need some rubber for the rear. The 10.5" rear wheels fit well..
And im not sure of the rotors.... I bought the whole kit from bigbrakeupgrade.com But i beleive they are power stop rotors. The rear are obviously wilwoods.

I tried getting in touch with Ed but hes a hard guy to reach. I have a C5 front LS1 rear brake swap on my car now and I need to replace the rotors and the stock GM C5 fronts are now drilled and slotted but the rear LS1 rotors are not. Im having a hard time finding a matched look C5 front and LS1 rear hence why I asked.Originally Posted by timmyboy
