LTX and LSXPutting LT1s, LS1s, and their variants into Third Gens is becoming more popular. This board is for those who are doing and have done the swaps so they can discuss all of their technical aspects including repairs, swap info, and performance upgrades.
Get a Direct Port LS3 Hidden NX System, it looks like a stock LS3 intake w/ all plumbing hidden inside, then put the bottle in the spare tire compartment and you will be 100% stealth!!!! But do upgrade those rod bolts!!!! ARP!!
I’m new to this whole swapping engines thing, I have a 91 with a 5.7. i’m interested in doing an LS3 swap, I live in Valencia which is in Southern California. i’m looking for companies are mechanics who have done this plenty of times to save myself the headache and money of trying to figure this out as a first timer. Recommendations would be greatly appreciate it as I’m excited to get this project going.

Welcome to the boards! You won't be disappointed with the LS3, that's for sure. I'd recommend searching around here and seeing if you can find someone who's done something similar to what your goal is. There's been so many different swaps from mild to wild, plus tons of people will be willing to help/advise. Maybe check out the regional boards for more local knowledge, but there's got to be plenty of places willing/able to do what you want near you.
You may want to start your own thread, so as not to take over someone else's.
I have the same accessories and they clear the stock k-member.
What doesn't work is the A/C.
The old corvette accessories - 97-04 were the problem ones
So, would a good functional and clean look be C6 accessories and the 4th gen A/C? I’m planning on a truck LQ9 swap w/862 heads and figure I better do A/C or the wife will never ride with me and I’ll also need the defrost for when it rains. I’ve read where the truck A/C is not compatible (not sure why). Thanks!
Thanks for the info. This is going to be a budget build to an extent (from which I can control) and am wondering if the more reasonable approach is all 4th gen brackets/accessories from a junkyard, but maybe relocating the A/C compressor so that I don’t have to mod the K member.
I’m new to the forums and haven’t done a lot of searching. It’s prob already discussed somewhere but figured I’d ask back to an active member who’s in the know. Thanks!
As for the wiring harness i am using the gm conversion swap harness. The wheel wells are undercoated with 3m undercoating. For prep work i used grease and wax remover with a scotch brite pad. I know i will be satisfied with the cam. Im hoping to be about 480 rwhp with motor alone. I also have a 100 hp shot on top of that. Ill attach some pictures of the car for you guys. -Tim
nice one bro I'm thinking on installing an ls3 ano on my Camaro I may have some questions on the future 😁
