Thanks guys. Im hoping that the rubber coupling between the intake piping and throttle body will provide enough flex. I am not running a speed density tune. I am running the stock ls3 mass air computer program. -Tim

Re: 91 camaro ls3 swap
Hey guys. Well i have been working on this project for a while now I decided it was time to let everyone else in on it. For the sake of open criticism, suggestions, help, or whatever you see that i did wrong. Lets start with the car. Its a 91 z28 that has 30,000 original miles Fully caged (12 point), x-brace subframe connectors, And many other susspension mods. I finaly decided i was going to do this car what it deserved and went and bought a ls3 crate engine. As you can see by the pics i installed a lg motorsports g6x3 cam, and ati underdrive pulley. I also purchased the spohn performance tubular k-member and coil over kit. I painted everything in the engine compartment and just installed the engine over the weekend. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks tim.
Did you upgrade the pushrods? The valvesprings? The retainers? What about the rod "bolts"? (capscrews) and are you a member of www.ls1tech.com?
Yes im on ls1 tech. I did upgrade everything but rod bolts. Personally i did a bunch of research on cams. And there are alot of happy people with the g6x3 cam. Not to mention its a proven power maker. I drove my buddys new vette with it and driveability was great. He is putting 482 rwhp cam header swap alone. Also im young i have no problem with a little surging. My buddy also owns a speeed shop and we have a real good tuner.
2. also maybe i over looked it but what size are ur headers and if the collectors are 3in do u have any clearance problems if ur cars lowered?

Re: 91 camaro ls3 swap
I want to put those same wheels on my GTA along with the big brake kit. Can you give me all of the specific for the tires & wheels? What rearend do you have under there? Did you need wheel spacers? What is the backspacing? Did you get the wheels from O.E. wheels? Sorry for all of the questions!
I would love to be able to put 305's under the rear of my car.

This is a VERY clean install. You are quite **** about the quality and it shows, very nicely done. I love the fuel lines going through the fender, looks amazing. What did you use to mount the gauges under the vents? I'm going to use gauge cups just drilled into the vent and paint the bolts black so they're hidden. Should have enough room in there for my mini shifter light. Again, hot install dude.

jsacra- I did not fly cut the pistons. You do not need to if you have no head work done at all. (any shaving) Personally talked to lg motorsports. Also I am running the 1 3/4" primaries with 2" collectors.
dprest68- The wheels are wheel replicas wheels c5 zo6 18*10.5 in back and 18*9.5 up front. Stock c5 back spacing. I have a moser 9" 4th gen width. No spacers in back. (required just a little massaging to the inner wheel wells). and 2" wheel spacers up front.
Demon355- I made that gauge pod setup out of wood. Believe it or not. Primed and sanded it smooth, then painted it. I bought the angle gauge inserts then set the gauges in there. That was about it.

Sorry typo. 2.5" collector. I ordered the whole kit from them. It is expensive. But do your research. There is no replacement for the comp 921 valvesprings. I love the cam... I need a tune.

No big updates. I ordered up the front grill (new). And it is a 1990 grill with the silver "camaro" written in it. I personally think it looks better then the 91-92 bowtie grill. Also have been doing alot of research on what cross member i will be purchasing. Should be ordering the trans, and some other goodies next week! -Tim

WOW Sweet looking ride!!
I see no battery in that engine bay. Can you post some pics of the battery relocation? Really interested in your cable routing and power distribution.
Keep up the nice work, she is a beauty of a build

I mounted my battery in the rear quarter behind the panel. It fits great with a coustom bracket. My power wire (welding cable) is run underneath the car and comes up behind the fender. From there it goes to two standoffs. This is the best way i could do it and keep the engine bay as clean looking as possible. Its hard to see in the picture but thats as close as i could get to it.

No its not a factory AC delete car. Off the distribution block 1 wire goes to the factory fuse panel. The other goes to the ls3 fuse panel. And the other goes to the starter.

Stance looks great! Did you roll those back fenders, they are looking pretty tight for tire fitment.
Did you change out your front springs to a softer rate? When I get mine together, my setup will be very simular to yours and I am sure the 325# springs I have up front will be way too stiff after the swap. What are your running and how is the ride/handling/launch?
Apprently from the stripes in your driveway you have a traction problem

Yes I have the spohn coil over conversion. I beleive mine are 325# springs. (QA1) I have not rolled the fender wells in. It is real close. I am only 3" off of my bump stops I dont know how it drives yet I am not tuned yet. I am currently getting my exhaust done then tunning. I will give you a update when i drive it.
Yes i bought the 6.2l ls3 emblems off of ebay. A pretty nice peice i might say.
And for the inner fender wells i used 3m undercoating.

None yet.... There is no room under this car!!!! Going to end up running a single muffler with 2 in and 2 out. Then dump before the axle.

Re: 91 camaro ls3 swap
A few small updates. Exhaust is done. I will post pics soon. I had to move my clutch peg in a 1/4" to fully engage the clutch. I never thought you had to do that though. Feels good now. Now its on to dyno tunning. Should have some numbers for you guys in the next two weeks. -Tim PS: I snapped a quick picture with my cell phone today before i left ill post it up here.

Lol. Yes we will. I will just have to journey down that way. I will post some pics of my overflow tank later. I think i already posted some pics. I made a custom overflow tank. I am not using a windshield squirter tank. I will also post pics of my interior i just completed putting it all back together.

Dynoed the car today. Thats about it though. We where not able to tune the car. We had a issue getting hp tuners valadating authneticity of my pcm. With no tech support from them on sunday, I will have to wait till next week when i have time. Any ways running rich it put down 465 rwhp. As soon as i get the base tune straightened out it will be time for the 150 shot!! I will keep you guys updated. -Tim

I was looking at new LS3 front end accessories at Fred Bean. They listed two. One was listed as short and wide and the other was tall and narrow. Were either of those the ones you used?
