best lt1 tuner near upstate sc, dyno tuning benefits?
after my new radiator comes im looking to get a tune. i was going to get a mail order from pcm for less but since im not entirely sure what the car has done to it i think a dyno tune might be a better option. hawks is only 25 mins from me has anyone ever had their lt1 tuned there? i called and talked to someone they quoted me 500$ for a dyno tune, is that reasonable? seems like lots of shops tune LSx motors and lots of shops tune regular sbc's but not alot of lt1 tuners. the main reason i want a dyno tune is becasue the car has some driveability issues, the throttle inputs arent smooth at all. how much can this be cleaned up with a dyno tune. as far as mods i know of its got ported heads, a comp cam but dont know specs but feel and sounds like a big one. 1.6 rockers, electric water pump, shorty headers, not much of an exhaust a few other things i cant think of.

From what I here, Alvin at PCM for less is good on LT1's. He tuned a TBI for me, and I have an appointment to get my LS1 tuned there. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Is Mooresville N.C. to far for you to drive? $500 seemes a little steep to me. I would send them an e-mail and see what they say. That don't cost anything LOL. Hope this helps, Dean

i talked to pcmforless when i was thinking about getting a mail order for it i did not realize that they do dyno tuning as well. once i put the new radiator in the car i will see how it drives and probably decide then how far i want to go.
