Hey guys, I'm in the middle of a lt1/t56 swap in my 84 trans am. I'm got a cc503 cam and le2 heads and intake. The motor has around 20,000 miles on it out of a 93 camaro. Some of the guys I work with have novas and lightnings that run bottom 11s and 10s. My question is, what should my car run with this setup? Should I just build it to a 396 with a bigger cam? And those heads or should I look into procharging the stock bottom end? I want a constant power gain, so no nitrous for me. Just throw out some ideas for me guys.

Dustin

Re: Lt options

i think that cam may be a bit small for the LE2 package. I have the same thing in my camaro and I can't remember if it was that small. If you stroke your engine to a 396, you are going to have to upgrade everything else. In my opinion, A stout 383 with the right heads/cam will be perfect. And, if you build it right, you can add the supercharger as well. This combo will still find your weak link and I think you will be replacing driveline parts until they are upgraded as well.

It depends on how old the heads are, years ago he had no "stages"on heads.
I asked Lloyd the question about hp with this set up and he told me around 375,but that was with long tubes.
As for what it will run that depends on alot of things. Call him and talk to him he will spec you a cam and you can run 11's all day, may not be much of a dd though.
