Could 5.3L truck acces. fit w/ different alt?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried running the F-Body alternator or even an earlier model CS130 alternator in the 4.8L / 5.3L Truck accesories and got that to clear their factory hood.

Could it work?

It's not the size thats the problem, it's the location. After that's taken care of, the intake hits. Once swapped for a car style intake the WP neck hits the TB cam. Once the WP is swapped for a front neck (car style) the accessory depth changes. This requires either a custom WP or swapping to the car accessories

Several threads exist though showing clearance of the truck stuff under a RA2 or cowl hood, just nothing factory will work easily

the accessory cost definitely does stink to have to add to the truck swap list, but its a necessary evil as pocket said. you can't mix and match different setups and there's just no way to make the truck stuff work in the car if you've got a stock hood.

i kept following the classifieds section on ls1tech and snagged a new bracket setup for $200, just gotta be patient
