Motor Mount question.

This is a simple one, and probably pretty obvious, but..

Since the LT1 uses the SBC upper clamshell mounts to bolt into a 3rd gen, is it safe to assume that I can buy solid lower motor mounts for an SBC, and they will work fine with the LT1?

Here's an example:

Thanks!

Re: Motor Mount question.

Yes, but remember the pass side LT1 mount on the block is different and wont work for your swap. Use a SBC mount

Re: Motor Mount question.

I am keeping the mounts off of my 350sb, and putting them on the LT1.

Thank you for the info.

Re: Motor Mount question.

I used my factory 305 TPI SBC mounts for the LT1 and ordered solid motor mounts from UMI I belive and the driver side bolted up just fine but the passenger side was off by like 1/8" just enough to not work so we have to modify the solid motor mount and finally got things right but was a pain in the ***. Just an FYI. It could have just been a problem with the UMI solid mount.

Re: Motor Mount question.

I hope that doesnt happen, I figure I should get new mounts anyways, so why not get solid, ya know?

Thanks for the headsup.
