.... Ug Whats wrong here? I need help :(

Got my alson SFC's off so I can use the Hawks 4L60E tranny x member. Wellllll I install it and the transmission is about an 1 1/2 up forward of the brace. I said wow.. Do I need to move the tranny back? I look and I CANT go back anymore from the second pic. Any more and the pan will hit the xmember. + I look at my driveshaft and I cant go in anymore. Then I got to thinking. Did I need this brace anyways? Should I go back to stock brace? My 4L60E is from a 94 LT1

I then said hmm. Maybe its suppose to bolt up to the 5 speed bolt pattern ahead of it but naw its not wide enough. Thoughts?

Hmm. I dont know if this part of my problem, but TCI says the 93-97 4L60E's are 30 3/4 long and the 98+ LS1 4L60E is 31 5/32's

If thats the true case, Thats kinda good, because I can go back to using my alstons and my Spohn DS loop. There will be a brace for sale then!

That looks alot like the T56 crossmemeber

Anyways, your build is going against the grain using an older trans with the newer engine, small hiccups like this are to be expected. If i were you, Id weld a new pad onto the front of the crossmember and run it

Whats wrong with the DS? Unbolt it from the diff and push it all the way into the trans and measure the distance from the diff

OK People listen up. If you have an older tranmission you do NOT need this brace lol

Pocket, I dropped the motor right in today and used the factory x member. It did move back about 1/8 inch from where my tranny mount bolt mark was. I would have used the brace but as you can see from the pics, the pan is completely in the way on the passenger side and gives very little room on the driver side for the exhaust. I would still have to go deep to get the exhaust to work.
