IT RUNS!!!!!!!! And it didnt blow up!!!! No oil leaks, it idles, and its just plain freak'n awesome!!!!!!
The car started up FIRST TRY after cranking over for about 3 seconds.
I would say pretty damn good for my first time ever doing a swap, and my first time ever attempting to build a wiring harness and make it all integrated into the car like factory.
As soon as I put my header back on, I will post a good video on youtube and post up the link.
In other news, I found awesome tires on ebay for the front, here they are mounted:

Ill post some pics of them on the car when I post the video link

Well its been a long time since any new progress has been posted. Since last time, the car now runs and drives. I've had a few little adventures ironing out the kinks but hey thats all part of the experience!

First things, first time I drove the car around town two things happened. One, my alternator wasnt charging as there was no positive voltage going to it. That was fixed with a quick parking lot spice into switched power. The second thing was the first pull to redline in 2nd gear lead to a rocker jumping off a pushrod at 6200 rpm...stupid roller rockers and not knowing how to lash them perfectly! But $28, an over head valve spring compressor and some nylon rope, ten minutes later that issue was fixed.

Now I also ditched the wiring harness I had built as I needed to hide the PCM under the dash instead of leaving it in the engine bay. When I did this, I managed to screw up the grounds for my main and 3 fan relays, and when the fans tried to turn on, I ended up frying all 4 relays at once. Thankfully that was the only damage done, so some rewiring of grounds and no more problems! I also ditched the '96-'97 LT1 fan wiring with 3 relays to the early model type where the fans turn on independently of each other using only 2 relays.

Even though I only have about 30 miles on the swap, I still took the car out to Thunderhill last monday for some fun. I ended up getting meatballed, or mechanical black flagged, as I was uninformed and assembled my engine two years ago and lubed all my seals with motor oil, instead of engine assembly lube. So I need to replace all my front timing cover seals. But the car still ran great even though I was taking it easy!

I love my paint job at night...

Hey guys!! It's been a looong time I know, but I've been working and working and working...those damn BMWs never stop breaking!
I just got done putting a new clutch in the car...took me all of my Easter Sunday...and lets just say that my experience wasn't so bad, if we don't include the customer service nightmare I dealt with this afternoon...
here's the link to the thread I just posted in the aftermarket review...
