Starting an LT1 swap and have some questions.

I've been out of the game for a bit. I used to cruise this forum (and my Camaro) daily. After too many headaches I parked the car and it has sat dormant in the garage.

That all changed when I got offered a donor LT1 car with a running drivetrain.

Currently I have a 305 w/ 700R4. The donor is an LT1 w 4L60(e)? The 305 has a set of SLP 1-3/4" coated headers and a brand new Flowmaster complete exhaust with ZERO emissions equipment.

Will I need to have 02 bungs welded to the headers? Can they be safely deleted?

I have WAY too much invested in this complete exhaust to replace ANY of it.

Help me get this thing out of the garage!

Always loved your car. How were you tuning w/o o2 before? You I would have o2 bungs welded in the headers.

Not much tuning needed for a 305.

I am waiting for the donor car to be towed to me. I still need to yank the 305 and trans. I also need to take the car to the bodyshop to have the engine bay painted. I am just getting the issues I know about answered so I can get a solid game plan.

Also, who was it that does the wiring harnesses for a direct swap. I'm not rewiring a damn thing if I can pay for a plug and go harness.

I love your car, nice work.

Yes you'll need to keep the 02's if your retaining the factory fuel injection. What year LT1 did you get?

The engine is a 95' I believe.

Guess I'll be grinding off the JetHot coating to add the bungs!

The 95 is a good year to swap.

No need to grind off the jethot, the o2 bungs don't have to be in the header. Just add one on the pipe just after the collector

I was curious if that would work. It will be better than grinding on expensive headers.
