Just wanting to confirm. Once I notch the K-member for a/c will I be able to reuse the brace? From the looks of it seems the bolt hole gets cut away and the brace itself would be in the way.

Any other solutions beside a tubular K-member?

I haven't really looked at it too closely yet, but you lose the bolt hole for the brace once you notch. Maybe weld straight to the K-member?

Re: K member brace with A/C notch?
I have a tubular K-member that I ordered with the brackets to attach the braces ... but to fit my LS2 (GTO, stock accessories) in there I had to cut off the inner bolt stud for the brace. There is still room to make a brace using only the outside bolt, but the inside bolt is gone. I plan on making custom braces, but I haven't done it yet.
(I hope that wasn't too terribly confusing)

You may not have to do the "notch." I just pounded the section in with a 20 oz hammer where you would notch and made a big enough indention for the a/c compressor to clear. Still have factory braces installed and don't remember them being any problem. My a/c is for LT1 though so LSx a/c compressor location may be in a slightly different spot.

Hmm. How different are the compressors?
