LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

not exactly sure where to find this but Im sure many of you would have it.Im looking for an engine diagram of all the sensors on an ls1 so that I know exactly where to plug things in on the motor since I got my motor and the harness seperated I dont know where all the plugs go. Can anyone help me out?

Im getting closer to being alot more confident in swapping this in as I understand the wiring and what is barely needed from the thirdgen to do the swap

^^ refer to pockets thread and scroll down to where he has all the connectors bundled and read what they are all for. Also helps in case you need to find it by wire color.

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

I have my harness all labeled and I know what they are for..I need to know where to physically plug them all in on the motor itself.Im new to the ls style sensors and plug connectors,I just want to make sure I dont plug something in the wrong spot on the motor.I know where some of the easy stuff plug in like tps,iac and the coil packs.from there,I cant tell what some of the sensors are on the motor.I need a engine sensor location diagram, not a harness diagram. Not sure if Im wording it right to find what I need :S

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

almost all the connectors are shaped differently, pretty much impossible to plug them into the wrong spot. Toss the harness on the engine and spend a few hours poking around, if still lost....take a pic of the plug and where you think it should go.

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

Thanks, thats good to know that the plugs arent interchangeable and i cant plug anything into the wrong spots..aside from plugging in the wrong injectors or coil packs on the wrong side lol>>which could be possible with my luck when I go to fire it up :P.If I get snagged..Ill take a pic and ask what it is that Im looking at.

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

So I wrote down and took pics of the wires/connectors that I dont know where they go or what they are for and need help to make sure Im not missing anything.

I have 3 connectors that dont go to the ecm and have no idea what they are for.

White plug:
black/white=ground
brown= runs upto a brown connector that is unknown?
light green= same as the brown wire?
tan=runs upto a single half moon type white connector?
yellow/black= runs to a gray connector near the ecm?
green/white=vss signal...is this vss output to my gauge?
gray=cpp switch signal..is this the clutch pedal wire?

do these plugs look familiar?

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

although i cant see the end of the connector, i believe the 3rd one may be your oil pressure switch. you'd hook this up to your gauges (c100 connector on driver side)

C220 (not reused in swap)
http://www.lt1swap.com/ls1_wiring_ha...connectors.htm

T56 reverse lights. Auto to T56 swaps use this pigtail in the conversion, T5 to T56 swaps reuse the original connector in the 3rd gen harness

Oil pressure sender

This should help too

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

Thanks for posting that pocket! I hadn't seen that thread before and it helped alot....I couldn't figure out where to put my coolant temp gauge wire but that 3 wire one looks promising. To the parts store!

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

Ok Pocket bare with me since I havent done the auto to t56 swap yet so Im not certain of the connectors.

To clarify from the diagram you posted above on the C220.The Lt.Green and the Brown wires plug into the t56 and I would connect the Lt.Green to my reverse lights and the Brown goes to Ign?

Everything else I have figured out except for the alternator wiring.I dont recall seeing any wire from my ecm pinouts the go to the alternator. Is is just straight battery power and ground through the chassis?

Aside from this..I have my harness ready to splice into the car and do as much wire tucking as I can. Thanks a million guys,

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

Auto to T56, pull the T56 connector free of the LS1 harness completely. Find the auto shifter connector under your console. Splice them to the green and blue or green and brown wires in the connector. Color changed per year, doesnt matter which you splice them to, the switch is a simple open/closed

97-98 PCMs use a dummy light, 99+ go to R15. Two wire alts have a field duty cycle wire that goes to R52

Re: LS1 sensor location diagrams anyone?

Ahh I had to trace the red R15 wire and found it cut in my harness. The only connector that has been cut actually. So I need to get a alt for a 2000 camaro the uses a singe wire and solder a pigtail back onto it correct?
