95 Donor Car?

Would it be worth buying a 1995 Camaro Z28 LT1 T56 in order to swap my 1987 Camaro 2.8 t5 to the LT1.
What can be used from the 1995 and what else will I need to buy that I won't already have?
I have searched and researched, I just want to get all my facts straight. What will I need: anything from wiring, mounts, pipes, lines, hoses, cooling, etc...

Thanks. Hoping to tackle this in the next couple months

Re: 95 Donor Car?

Starting with a whole donor car is optimal

Use as much as you want, part out the shell. Might even profit from the conversion

Thanks, but what will fit from the 95 engine bay in my 87?
I'm starting with a 2.8 so I'd assume I need motor mounts(can the 4th gen ones be used?)
Obviously I'd need the electronics and wiring from the 95, but what can I not use that I will need to buy aftermarket/used?

Thanks but I've read all kinds of posts on it and most of what I've found is about VATS. I understand the mounts from the 1995 LT1 will replace my 87 2.8 v6 mounts. I'm able to fab. necessary fuel lines for the swap. And will figure out power steering. Headers I've also got covered, however what I'm concerned about is the wiring. Can I get some advice on installing the LT1 ECM/harness? Also, will the t56 mount to my torque arm properly?

I've searched a lot and read, however some questions/answers are unclear right now. I really just want to know what I'm diving into here.

Thanks.
