LSX swap done now cooling question
Ok got my swap done and the car runs good. However going down the highway the car seams to be running around 100 degrees and will not get any hotter unless its sitting still. Any thoughts as to why? I know its not running hot because my heater is blowing warm air and not hot.
Also i want to flush my cooling system out which heater hose do i put the T fitting on?

The fans are working and the coolant level is good. I also changed the thermostat when i installed the engine. Maybe i put it in backwards i dont know. I am at a loss as the radiator, thermostat and all hoses are new.

Re: LSX swap done now cooling question
Are you basing this mostly off what your coolant gauge in the stock cluster is telling you? I understand you say the air coming out of the vents isn't "hot" but more "warm", how long is the car running when doing the "feel test"? I know back when I drove my car in the cold winter months it would take about 10-15 minutes before the heater really started kicking out hot air.
If you're going off the gauge cluster, it's probably telling you something completely innacurate. Not many people here have had good luck with the stock gauge reading correctly.
Have you had a scan gauge/tuning software hooked up to the ECM to verify that it's only running at 100*?

No i have driven the car for 300 miles now at over 50 miles a trip and the air is just warm not even warm enough to defrost the windows. The gauge is wrong but i am guessing off of when the fans turn on since we set them to come on at 200 degrees and they wont come on unless the car is sitting for over 25 minutes.

Are you sure you put the thermostat in? The symptoms sound like you didn't...

Re: LSX swap done now cooling question
Ok pulled the T stat housing and yes the t stat was in there. Now i dont know why i am not running a normal temp but i am going to buy a new water pump and T stat and see what that does. Also noticed alot of rust in the anti freeze so whats the best way to flush the cooling system? I bought a flush kit but dont know which heater hose to connect it to. Thanks
Re: LSX swap done now cooling question
A flush is just a fluid you add then rinse the system out with a few rounds of water. Is it rust or sludge from mixing dexcool and green stuff?

No i am doing the reverse flush which is a T in the heater hose and you connect a garden hose to reverse flush the cooling system. Any ideas as to which hose? Also no its not tranny fluid it is rust or maybe a bunch of dirt its hard to tell.

Re: LSX swap done now cooling question
The larger hose is the inlet of the heater core, the smaller one is the outlet.
