LSX Swap Interchangeable / Swappable bolts
So i really want to establish a good thread on what bolts from say a 5.3 / 6.0 etc can be swapped around based on an LS1 style build (ex. making a 5.3 into an LS1 when you start with a complete 5.3 engine with all accessories on it like myself). As ive started getting closer to buying a T56 to finish buyin all my swap parts so im ready to do this swap im now looking for bolts/hardware and my first purchase was LS1 intake bolts. You'd think these are cheap but do not be mistaken, from a dealer they are $55 for a set of OEM style and for $50 you can get a set of ARP's so if a few sets of bolts might start adding up quite a bit, id like to re-use as many of the 5.3's accessory bolts as i can. I bought a used set for now from LS1 tech for $27. MY next few searches will be Waterpump bolts, pan bolts etc... are they the same between a 5.3 and LS1, im thinking they are... Any input is GREATLY appreciated.

oil pan and water pump bolts are the same. Several of the large bracket bolts that hold the PS and alternator can be used for the f-body as well.

Re: LSX Swap Interchangeable / Swappable bolts
Hello,
I am doing a ls1-t56 swap on my car too. I don't have any of the accessory bolts. Does anyone have a set for sale? Or maybe know the specs to by the bolts from a hardware store. Over here in the Dallas, TX area Ace True Value has almost every bolt you can think of. I would rather have the OEM bolts, But sometimes aftermarket is better anyway.
Or the part numbers for the bolts from the Dealer?
Thanks for your help
Robbie

Re: LSX Swap Interchangeable / Swappable bolts
I think the list would be shorter with that bolts DONT interchange freely
Only ones I can think of are the truck intake vs car intake because of length. Mcmaster carr can order any bolt size imaginable cheaper than dealers/hardware stores
Use this site to find the proper length/thread
