ls2 timing chain swap ls6
i am getting ready to put a ms4 cam in my ls6 and i have read on here some where to switch the timing chain and gears to a ls2 setup is it true that the ls2 chain is stronger if so what year ls2 or are all ls2 timing sets the same thanks

Yep. Join ls1tech.com and contact yank. You can get a new ls2 timing set for 68$ shipped.

The same thing I did. But you just want the chain, not the gears. The GM part number for the LS2 chain has become the stock replacement for the LS1. I just recently installed one myself and its much beefier then stock. It will cost you $42 shipped.

So will the ls2 gears work on the ls6 to I don't want to replace just the chain

While your in there try and track down a chain damper if your up to the challenge. The LS2 chain will always have a hair of slack without it. Some blocks were drilled for the damper and some were not, but finding the 'tan' damper is tough to do because they were discontinued.
The tan damper would be bolt in if your block was pre drilled. But if it wasn't you could always drill and tap for the black one.

my block already has the chain damper on it i am going to jegs to pick up a set in a little bit thanks
