need a little help w/heater hoses, LT1 swap using LT1 radiator

Like the title says, doing the LT1 swap, using the LT1 radiator.

I have the LT1 radiator hoses all hooked up. What im confused on, are the heater hose routing, and the HVAC 3 hose control.. there is 1 port on the LT1 water pump passenger side and is pointed up, what hooks up to that? also th passenger frame rail at the bottom that used to go to the radiator.

anyone have a diagram on how they hooked their up using this set up?

The heater core has 2 ports that each use a different sizes of heater hose. After you cap off the far bottom drivers side port on the LT1 water pump, there will only be 2 ports left on the water pump and I believe they are each a different size. Match the heater port size to the water pump size. Buy a good length of each size of hose and route it either on top of the engine or along the passenger side on the bottom by the frame rail. For the vacuum controlled heater valve, I am not sure how they one with 3 ports is hooked up (but could find out by looking at my non-LT1 firebird), the one with 2 ports is just connected inline with one of the heaters hoses. Some people think the heater valve is optional, I've never looked into it much so I don't know if it's worth keeping or not.

thanks for the info, but it still doesnt solve the issue.

there is still the hardline port on the passenger frame rail, it has 2 ports actually.. one that goes up to the 3 port valve .. and the straight one that went to the radiator..

Ok, here's what I did. Mine didn't have the 3 way heater control valve when I got the car, or the hardlines so I ran the top heater hose to the top connector on the passenger side of the water pump that is turned up, the bottom hose going into the heater core to the bottom connector that was turned down.



Driver side lower connector on the waterpump goes to the nipple on the radiator at the bottom driver side (only if you have removed the oil cooler)

yep, I got busy... again

so its pretty straight forward.

Take the hose from the top of the waterpump, run that to the diverter, that splits it to the heater core, and the pipe on the frame rail.

the return line that used to go to the radiator, goes back to the bottom of the waterpump. Thats it.

Vacuum, I teed into the rear of the intake manifold, put the check ball in place and ran the accessories off of that.

I dont if you can help doing lt1 swap into a 86 Iroc Z I am using the stock camaro radiator the heater hoses go the left goes to the radiator the right go to water pump but on the Lt1 shouldn't both heater hoses go to the water pump do they sell a cap to plug the radiator where the stock heater goes ?thanks
