Difference Between EFI and Carb Tanks?
I'm swapping my LG4 for an LS1 and trying to make sure I have my fuel system worked out. I picked up a Fuel Injection sender but I keep seeing that there's a different part number for the efi tank. Why is that? What's different?

I've heard it's the internal baffles.
I put an EFI pickup and pump in my LG4 tank. Haven't had any problems with it (although something must be wrong, I only won 11 trophies at the track with it last year).
But, an '87 LG4 should have the in-tank electric pump in it from the factory. Just replace the pump, and make sure all lines from the tank to the engine are up to EFI pressures.

I was thinking it could be the baffles. I guess I could settle with 11 trophies including a couple Wally's this year
I'm going with stainless steel braided an hose all the way from the tank to the rail and a walbro 255 so I should be set.

agreeing all all fronts; baffles should be the only difference. i used a tpi sending unit on my 87 lg4 setup. had the factory carb fuel pump, but due to size and lack of proper high pressure fittings, another sender was needed.
having a factory efi car would have been nice, since all the lines and sender could be used for the lsx swap, but shouldn't discourage the carbed guys from jumping in. the fuel system was just a drop in the bucket compared to the overall swap costs....

Wally - haven't done that since '09...
Really, though, an '87 tank shouldn't have any issues.
