Pulled my ls1/t56 today from doner 2001 Trans Am. I got the ecm and wireing from ecm to the engine. My question is do I need the wireing from the other side of the engine bay that goes to the two fuse blockes that sit behind the driver side head light on the 2001 T/A? Thanks for your help.

If your going to use the 4 gen dash with the gauges You can cut the abs and bcm out.

if you've got the complete pcm harness, you should be ok. but grab everything you can - better to have too much stuff than not enough!

I got the fuse/relay boxes with the 2nd drop-out (LS1/4L60E). I cleaned up the harnesses of things I wouldn't need and mounted them behind the left headlight. You can pick them out below the air filter.

I used an eBay swap fuse/relay box in the LS1/T56 swap. Although they take up more space, the factory boxes turned out to be easier to wire up. I agree with Dan - grab all you can.

This is what it looked like as pulled from the donor car:

And after I removed the unneeded wires from the box harness (sorry, didn't get of shot of them wrapped & cleaned up - I was doing this in a hurry):

Re: ls1 swap question
If it was me, I would get pocket to make a custom 3rd gen ls1 harness. I've seen his work, and it's great

He is referring to my 92 z28 and Pocket made it so easy plug and play! I will be buying another one for my 91 z28 vert swap

And Pocket is in your area........
